CHURCH OF THE ASSUMPTION LOGO
The letters “A” and “M” is a seven-pointed star in the centre of the emblem signifies the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The twelve five-pointed stars surrounding it represent a crown of twelve stars.
“Then a great and mysterious sight appeared in the sky. There was a woman, whose dress was the sun and who had the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head,” (Rev 12:1)
The Cross on the crest of the emblem reminds us of our Redemption by Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pope Pius XII, declared on 1st November 1950 in his Apostolic Constitution, “Munificentissimus” that the Blessed Virgin Mary, on completion of her earthly sojourn, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory.”
