The Good Samaritan is Jesus, who reaches out and heals our wounds. The Gospel emphasizes that there is no love of God without love of neighbour. Being a good neighbour is not about helping those who are good to us, but going beyond the call of duty to help those in need, even the stranger. In Christ, everyone is someone. We need to ask: Are we doing what Jesus would want us to do? The road from Jericho to Jerusalem runs through our neighbourhood, and is filled with wounded people. – RDK
